apartment is almost done. got all new rugs, and new tiles in my dining room. will eventually put in some new tiles in the kitchen. no rush.
tomorrow i am going to start moving some boxes and other odds and ends up there!
the last month has been super busy with weddings and other shoots - this weekend i have absolutely nothing going on. i will most likely just enjoy staying in (yet, still working on some of those photos).
i am flying into a random airport in missouri in a couple weeks, then driving back to mass with my cousin (who currently lives in OKC, but is moving back here for a few months). it will be a long, but hopefully fun and entertaining drive. thankfully, i can handle long drives/trips.
then in about a month i will be on my way to puerto rico! visiting family, shooting a wedding, hopefully some time on the beach - etc! so excited.

Hi LJ.
Does anyone use this anymore?
I have been super busy with photography related jobs this summer, and I am not trying to fill in a few gaps for my fall schedule. I will be doing my first wedding expo in March 2010 - so it will be fun to arrange and organize my booth area.
Ummm...nothing else is new. Destination wedding in Puerto Rico in a few months. The ideas have been overwhelming. haha.
I have a new apartment lined up...just waiting for the current tenants to close on their new single family home - move out - do some renovating - then Rigoletto and I are in. It's alot of space for just me and rigoletto haha. I will definitely have a house warming party once I am settled in and I will invite whoever wants to come. Stay tuned.

I just ordered the D700. EEEEEEEEEEK. It should be here Monday.
Spent 3k on the camera, extended 2 year warranty, a 4GB card, and the grip.
Oh my. I feel so giddy. Thank God I have these weddings coming up to pay for it.

So, I was almost going to get the D3:
But then Nikon decided to come out with this new full framed baby:
I think it would be more practical to go with the D700 for the time being. It is essentially a mini D3 anywho. So by May I should have this - and since I will have saved about 2k by not getting the D3, I will probably invest in a new lens or two aswell, just havent decided which ones yet. I will probably rent a few lenses to test them, since I am not used to having a full frame with my current cameras.
I am a very excited girl.

Back on an actual schedule tomorrow. Actually kind of excited. Second job (higher pay!) starts tomorrow aswell. I will also discuss what my future work schedule will be with that office, but I am pretty sure it will be M-Th-F, and my old job in Framingham will remain T-W (since those are the days I have class and the two are just blocks away from one another. Convenient, eh?? :) )
Rigoletto just ate a rolled up napkin that was covered in butter. Woops. He seems fine right now, but I am sure he will have some sort of gross poop later on. I have temporarily put him in his crate without the bed. I dont want him randomly vomiting or pooping on the rugs or anything.
Might have another possible wedding for March. The girl I know who suggested me to them told me that they were actually considering not even hiring a photographer because they are so strapped for cash. How shitty would it be not have photos of your wedding day? Sure you can have guest photos, but it is not really the same. I am most likely going to help them out a bit, especially since it is local anyways - so its not like I have to do any traveling and such.
Morrissey tickets for Dan, Luke and I have been purchased. I am looking forward to that show. Amebix is in a couple weeks. Then Coliseum is coming back around again next month.

I just started the first draft to my first paper of the semester, and I am already up to three full pages - and I didnt even have to bullshit anything. Everything came to me pretty easily, and I am hoping I can figure out how to formulate my ideas further soon so I can get the next 3-4 pages done this week. I have a two hour gap between my classes tomorrow so I will try to get more done then.
Yesterday my father and I went to the Red Sox game. Free food and ice cream - such a bad combo, and I thought I would feel bad today about it, but I am actually feeling really good. haha. Perhaps because I went to the YMCA so early on today.
So shiny and remodled since the last time I went!

Classes have been awesome.
My Astronomy class has rekindled my love and interest in becoming an astronomer. The math and physics involved dont even phase me anymore. I think I am going to start thinking about it seriously again. I am completely serious. Med school might be out the window.
Even though it seems like this semester is going to be awesome, I still want it over with so I can have my degree in Science already. I dont know if I should keep going to school right after or just look for a new job? Or both, but just go to school part time?
Hmmm....
PS: I see there has been alot of talk about the LHC lately. Everyone needs to calm down. Its not even close to the end of the world - and if it does actually answer any of the things it was made to answer, then that would be fucking huge and really exciting to people like me who usually need answers to things.
I tried cutting Rigoletto's nails yesterday and he totally was not down for it. I have cut them before and he was alright with it - so this makes me wonder if the girl I usually bring him to for grooming cut too close to the quick on his nail last before. =( Might have to look for somewhere else to take him. He was terrified! He would put his mouth around my hand and apply just a little pressure. Not really biting me, but just telling me "no". I got through one paw and didnt want to have him go through the rest.
It annoys me to because I like things being really even, and it bugs me since his three other paws are not trimmed! ah!

Friday - Lame MIT party with Cristina, Luke and Dan. ;) It is okay though because we all got to hang out, and its a fun time. Dan got into a conversation with a guy who is pretty much getting his PhD in Theoretical Physics/String Theory. What the fuck. We are going to have a day when we all go over to discuss dark matter. If that actually happens, it would be awesome.
Attn: Cristina. Dan pointed out that the four of us all represent all of the romance/latin languages. There for we were all made for eachother.
Onwards.
Luke, Dan and I went to Fire and Ice in Cambridge on Saturday night. It was cool. Definitely not somewhere we would go to often though. Its more like a once a month/two month thing. Also - if you go during lunch hours (before 4pm) its half price. I will have to remember that for next time.
One of the guys cooking said to Luke and I, something along the lines of "It's so hot in here. Two reasons, I am next to huge grill and next to this pretty girl" aka me. Haha. He though I was "with" Luke and said something like "It's okay we can share". Then proceeded to keep staring and smiling at me...awkwardly.
A few minutes later he must have seen Luke and I trying to talk to Dan from across the counter area, cause he went up to him and said something like "Your friend is upset because I am hitting on his girl" - then Dan bursted his bubble by saying I was actually his girlfriend. They both had a really good laugh, it seemed - then talked to each other in Portuguese about a couple things.
Fire and Ice had some really good food. Will go back there again eventually.
In other news, I got a french manicure for the first time ever that day - and I do believe that I am in love. My nails look so pretty. I feel nice.
Tomorrow I am meeting with a bride to be to go over some things - then running some errands, and studying for classes.
Rigoletto is making cute dream noises/squeaks. He is cute. I think I will bring him to get groomed tomorrow aswell.

I just let Rigoletto loose at one of the baseball diamonds on my street. He had a blast running freely. I miss the Hingham dog park. I think I will try to take him there again in the next week or two.
Oh, and I just gave him a bath right before letting him run wild. haha. oh well. Actually, I dont think he is dirty at all. He still smells nice too. So that is cool.
Here he is trying to catch his breath when we got back in. Right now I am in one of my living rooms and he is laying down on his side resting nicely. I love my puppy.

A while ago I bought a pretty sturdy accordion style type file holder (not cardboard) with the intent on using it for all my wedding/event stuff - to keep things organized.
This past week I finally put everything together neatly in there. I have my contracts, new itemized listing, and information for the three weddings I have coming up in September and October. Woohoo!

So, my parents have been preparing the porches (which have been light blue forever) for a new coat of paint. My dad and uncle have put primer on all three floors - and today for some reason my uncle couldnt help to come start the 'real' paint. So, I helped my dad paint. and by that I mean I pretty much painted alone the whole time to give him a break =)
I finished the third floor, the stairs going up to the third floor from the second, and the front half of their (first) floor. Took me about 3 or 3 1/2 hours. Tomorrow I am going to try to get the second floor done and maybe those stairs as well.
It looks good so far. The colour is now a sort of orange/red. Ill take photos tomorrow. Maybe.
I'm taking photos of people for the next three days. Woohoo!

My health insurance wont cover any more physical therapy appointments for the time being. I am contacting my lawyer and I think I am going to file the claim now since I am 'tort-eligible'.
Crossing my fingers in hopes I come out with something good/helpful financially from this. Its been a shitty 8 months since. I wonder what ever happened at that girls court date back in June? I will probably find out eventually what her 'sentence' was.
Anywho - I have a boost of motivation today to update my website. Three somewhat newer events will be going up shortly.
I just finished my summer courses [10 credits], and now have two weeks for a 'real' summer vacation. Who wants to hang out?

We have had plain black/rusted/boring/sticker filled mailboxes for quite some time.
I peeled off all the stickers[names], tried to scape off most of the rust, and i spray painted the mailboxes with a new coat of black - and to my surprise the detailed design part came off easily - so instead of painting those like i though i would have too, i just spray painted them as well, separately, in red.
And here is my fathers awesome mustache - I am trying to convince him to shave just the beard and leave the mustache =) hahaha.
That is all for now.
I finally got an email back from a wedding I did a month ago with the address to send the CDs to. Silly people. Gonna work on that now.

So I apply for a ton of jobs...
I get a ton of responses...but dont usually respond back...
I got offers for the interviews I actually went to...
And even though they were awesome jobs and what I needed, I turned them all down.
It's nice to know that I can easily get a new job when needed - but I wish something more convenient (as in closer to where I live now) would come up already! I'm so sick of driving more then half an hour anywhere. Well, driving isnt the problem - its just the damn traffic, which is usually unpredictable no a days with all the random construction going on everywhere.
Maybe I should just plan on moving again sometime soon.
Or just stay hopeful and hope something I need/want opens up close by.
=) ahhh we will see.
